Raising Standards: Our Revised Code of Ethics for 2025

At the Window Cleaning Association UK (WCAUK), our mission has always been to support professional window cleaners across the country while raising standards in safety, training, and customer service.

As the industry grows and evolves, it’s important that our values and commitments remain clear. That’s why we are proud to announce the launch of our revised Code of Ethics for 2025.

Why a Code of Ethics Matters

Window cleaning is more than just a service — it’s a profession that requires skill, safety awareness, and integrity. A Code of Ethics ensures that all members of the WCAUK operate to the highest standards, protecting not only their businesses but also their customers and the reputation of the industry as a whole.

Key Principles of the Revised Code

The updated Code of Ethics is built around seven core principles:

    1. Safety First – Protecting workers, customers, and the public at all times.
    2. Compliance with Law – Following UK health and safety legislation and maintaining proper insurance.
    3. Professional Standards – Delivering honest, reliable, and high-quality services.
    4. Continued Professional Development – Supporting training and skills growth within the industry.
    5. Community and Collaboration – Sharing knowledge and encouraging best practice across our membership.
    6. Environmental Responsibility – Reducing environmental impact wherever possible.
    7. Integrity and Accountability – Acting with honesty, fairness, and professionalism in all dealings.

    Commitment and Accountability

By becoming a member of the Window Cleaning Association UK, every professional agrees to uphold these standards. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of membership.

This ensures that membership of the WCAUK is a recognised mark of trust, safety, and professionalism.

    Moving the Industry Forward

We believe these changes will strengthen our community and provide reassurance to the public that when they hire a WCAUK member, they are choosing a business that values safety, quality, and professionalism above all else.

This revised Code of Ethics is a step forward for the entire industry — and we’re proud to lead the way.
